Trapped in an unknown time, in an unknown corner afar, the only things five unknown souls could recall were the great uncertainties of their relationship.
Their attempts at retracing their paths are crushed by a bus accident of inexplicable consequences.
Soon, they realise the completeness and accuracy of their fast fading memories to be a matter of life and death.
How far can what they remember bring them?
A group of people wakes up from an accident to find that they are caught in the world of the inbetween, unsure if they are dead or alive. They start to reflect, and try to salvage whatever is left of their memory, while yearning for a glimpse of a beacon of hope somewhere Afar.
Afar is a breakthrough work of playwright Lee Shyh Jih. Lee is known for the sensual realism in his works, but with Afar, he takes you into the mystical realm of liminality.
